Reduce, Re-Use, Recycle...Andrea Crews.
One of the great things about vintage clothing is that you are re-using old items, bringing them back for a second, third, forth go. In most cases you are saving money, getting a unique item and recycling old fashions...great for the environment, great for you, we all win! For years I considered myself a "vintage purist", the mear thought of re-constructing, deconstructing, chopping up a vintage item made my heart stop. I thought to myself, these items are meant to be as they were...well I have changed my attitude over time and although I might have a heart attack if you even consider bringing a pair of scissors near a vintage Pucci, Gucci or Fiorucci...some items could use a little change. I recently came across Andrea Crews via a new fashion blog, The Clones. She is an artist on many levels but I was instantly in love with her reconstructed fashions...have a look at some of my favs and then go dive deep into the world of Andrea Crews!

Nicacelly and The Independents.
Last year my gal Nicole of Nicacelly asked me if she could shoot me for a section of her web-site called "The Independents". It is in this section that she highlights ladies "that have carved out for themselves a space for expression and sucess" and photographs them in there environment rocking Nicacelly gear! The project is a collaboration between Nicacelly and photgrapher Mathew Reamer...and I am honored to be one of "The Independents".

And, yes I have been out of Iowa for months!
